Now that Christmas is over, I can show you guys what I’ve been working on! I made this lovely mixed media canvas for my best friend (who’s obsessed with the sea life) for Christmas. The only things I didn’t make … Continue reading
Whew! What a busy first week of the year!
As I said in my previous post, I signed up for The Documented Life Project this year. For the first week, the challenge was “Be Your Own Goal Keeper”. Now, for some weird reason, I had a particularly hard time with this challenge. I was working on this page for about four days. Even avoiding working in my journal by rearranging my craft room…
BUT I DID IT!
I sat down and made myself do it. My skills won’t get better and I’ll never learn if I avoid doing the challenges. When I finished my page, I actually liked what came out of it and am glad I made myself do it. I hope you all love it as much as I do and get some inspiration from it!
Here are the products I used:
Hot Pink Craft Paint
Shiva Oil Paintstiks in Pewter Gray
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad in Walnut Stain
Micron 01 Pen
Pencil with Soft Led (for outlining the encouraging words)
Random sticker letters
Clear Mini Beads
Starbucks Coffee Sleeve
Well hello 2015!! Didn’t we just celebrate 2014? Man, time sure does fly by. For the New Year, I want to make some changes in my life (I think we all could use a fresh start every now and then). … Continue reading
For so long I’ve been wanting to get into a group where I can work with other Art Journalist. The only person that I know (personally) who works in a journal, or even does art, is my mom.
I’m apart of a few Facebook groups that are for Art Journalists like Art Journal Junkies and Journal 52 and they are such great resources if you’re into art journaling. You get to talk to new people, get reviews on products you haven’t yet tried, and get inspiration from other’s work. It’s pretty amazing, these people.
All of these groups are great, but I wanted something a little more interactive. Something that would let me get to know other artists on a more personal level and develop relationships. That’s when Art Journal Swaps was born!
Art Journal Swaps is a group where, obviously, you swap journals. It’s more than just swapping with one person, you swap with a whole group! You have 6 different people working in your journal. It becomes an amazing piece of art. I’ve made a video on what Art Journal Swaps is all about. Check it out and come join in on the fun in the Art Journal Swaps group!
Have you been apart of a journal swap? How did it work out for you? Did you have fun seeing other artist’s work in your journal?
Have a Merry Christmas, Lovelies!

It’s that time of year again to bust out the heavy coats and drink more coffee and tea!
If you’re like me and you LOVE Christmas, then you’ve probably already started decorating. I think I went a little crazy this year and started decorating two weeks before Thanksgiving. It was only a few little things, though. Honestly!
This year, I’m trying to be a little more crafty with my Christmas decorations. I’m going to make just about all of the decorations fro my house this year. I’ve started off with a pretty simple project: Christmas Canvas. This piece is layered with gesso, paint, molding paste, stamps, more paint, paper, lace, and writing. My love for mixed media has grown from working on this piece. I hope you all love it as much as I do and it inspires you to create something beautiful for Christmas!
Until next time Lovelies,

Hey there, Lovelies! For this post, I wanted to share with y’all a new (to me) love: Podcasts!! I’m sure a lot of you have already been listening to podcasts on just about anything, but my hubby just introduced me to them. If you’re not familiar with them, they’re basically little “talk shows” or informative broadcast. You can find podcasts on pretty much anything. I was amazed when I found some on sewing, yoga, photography, and food. Can you say: AWESOME!
Over the weekend, my hubby and I had a road trip up to Nebraska (man, am I sick of being in the car!) and thats how I got into them. Usually, we just listen to music (driver’s choice, of course.) on the way to where ever we were going, but lately we’ve been getting kind of sick of music and wanted something a little more interesting to pass the time. Now, I’m hooked!
I haven’t been able to listen to any of the “girly” stations yet, since I know it won’t interest the hubby, but I’m hooked on the first station he played for me: Radiolab. “Radiolab is a show about curiosity. Where sound illuminates ideas, and the boundaries blur between science, philosophy, and human experience.” What I like about this station, is that it makes you think about things….they’re really informative and have interesting shows. One of my favorites is the Patient Zero story. In the Patient Zero show, they talk about Typhoid Mary and the beginning of AIDS. They really dive into the stories and find out more to the story than we all know.
If you’re ever in the car or looking for something to listen to while in the gym or doing dishes (Ha, doing dishes. Thats what the dishwasher is for! 😉 ), check out some of the awesome podcasts out there! There’s something for everyone!
Until next time, Lovelies!
Hello, Creative Lovelies! And welcome to my new blog! Okay, not really new since I’m just moving from Blogger to WordPress after all of my content was deleted by Blogger (thanks, Blogger techs). For those of you that are new to Creative Lovelie, I’ll give a quick little introduction!
Creating beautiful things is not only a deep passion of mine, but what I turn to when I need to clear my mind. Everyone has a different view of what is beautiful when it comes to art, and thats what is so great about it. There are no wrongs and no rights, just what you see as beautiful. To me, messes always mean something great is going to come out of it! Wether in the craft room or in the kitchen!
I wanted to create this blog, to showcase all of the beautiful, creative things in the world along with the lovelies who love to create them! My hopes for this blog, is that you can come here for inspiration, tutorials, or to connect with other creative lovelies! Feel free to comment or email with any requests that your like to be featured on here! 🙂
